In 1996, Christine formed the band Chesterhall with long time close friend Michael Yates and later Rob Manning. During the late 90's, Chesterhall performed in Portland and throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Following Rob's departure from Chesterhall, Christine decided to take a break from performing to write songs and further develop her own style. She emerged as a solo artist in the summer of 2000, playing in a variety of local Portland haunts. Her acoustic roots style combined with lyrics about people, life experiences and introspection, made for captivating and entertaining performances as a solo artist.
In January 2002, Christine took the inevitable next step and created the Christine Young Band. Adding the additional instrumentation and talent has propelled Christine from an engaging solo performer to an unstoppable, wickedly fun leading lady. With such a talented band backing her, Christine knows no limits and is content to push the boundaries of performance to take her as far as she wants to go. |
